Rob Kardashian, Blac Chyna Settle Revenge Porn Lawsuit Before Jury Selection

KEY POINTS

  • Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s revenge porn trial was scheduled to start this week
  • The exes reached a settlement on the case just before jury selection
  • Specific details about the settlement were not disclosed, and both parties have yet to comment

Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna have decided to settle their revenge porn lawsuit, according to multiple reports.

The 35-year-old “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” alum and the 34-year-old Lashed Cosmetics founder settled the lawsuit just before it was set to head to trial, Us Weekly first reported.

Just last week, Kardashian and Chyna were still figuring out ways to reach an agreement on the case after the latter voiced her joy upon knowing that they would be proceeding to trial.

Jury selection for the trial set to take place in Los Angeles was supposed to happen on Monday. But just before the process could start, the parents of 5-year-old Dream reached a settlement, Kardashian’s lawyer Michael Rhodes told People

Potential jurors on the case were informed that they would no longer be needed because the two decided to settle. No specific details about the terms have been disclosed. But it was undeniable how Kardashian badly wanted to prevent their legal battle from moving to trial, according to TMZ

Kardashian previously alleged that he had struck a deal with his ex to end the case by agreeing to help her get out of another legal trouble. However, he claimed that Chyna failed to honor their deal.

A judge decided in Chyna’s favor and ordered the revenge porn case to continue. The video vixen’s lawyer, Lynne Ciani, said her client was pleased to know that they would be proceeding to trial.

“Chyna is very pleased that the trial judge denied Rob’s motion to ‘enforce’ a settlement that never existed. Without a settlement, Chyna will prove her case to a Los Angeles jury on June 20 that Rob posted devastating revenge porn of her to millions of his Instagram followers without her consent,” Ciani said Friday.

Chyna originally filed the lawsuit against her ex in October 2017, three months after they broke up. At the time, she accused Kardashian of posting sexually explicit images of her on his social media accounts. She also requested a temporary restraining order against him.

Chyna also filed a defamation lawsuit against the Kardashian-Jenner clan, claiming that they ruined her chances of having a showbiz career. However, a jury found in May that Rob’s sisters and mom Kris Jenner never unjustly interfered with Chyna’s career.
