Ironwood Studios’ Pacific Drive is one of the many games to be released in 2024 and like most, this one too has a considerable amount of hype and following behind it. Getting to drive a car while you try to survive and scavenge in a zone filled with supernatural dangers certainly sounds exciting enough to warrant many players asking if the game will be playable on their PC handhelds.

This is Ironwood Studios’ debut title, but despite that, many players are quite excited about it. From what the trailers have shown so far, Pacific Drive really seems to be a unique game. All in all, 2024 is certainly looking to be a great year for gaming. But will Steam Deck, Legion Go, and Rog Ally players be able to enjoy the game? Well, continue reading to find out!

As of now, we are yet to get any confirmation regarding Pacific Drive being playable on the Steam Deck, Legion Go, and the Rog Ally. Now, while it hasn’t been confirmed so far, we do believe the game will be playable on all three devices. Why is that?? In case you didn’t know, Pacific Drive will be arriving on PlayStation 5 and Windows. Both the Rog Ally and the Legion Go run on Windows. So, getting the game to run on these two handhelds wouldn’t be much of a hassle.

This just leaves the Steam Deck and there’s a good chance that even it will be supported. Last year, in August of 2023, a curious fan made a Steam Discussion post asking if the game will be playable on the Steam Deck. The following is what one developer stated in a reply to that post:

“Thats a good question! We’re testing on a variety of different PC hardware – Steam Deck verification isn’t something we can pursue until after we’ve fully tested a lot of different configs. We’re going to try, but nothing definitive we can say just yet

Although the developer didn’t make any major promises, the reply did seem hopeful. Mind you, this was back in August 2023. So, a lot must have changed since then. Plus, the minimum system requirements for the game have been made available for quite a while, and it looks pretty good.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

  • OS: Windows 10

  • Processor: Intel Core i5 8600

  • Memory: 16 GB RAM

  • Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB

  • DirectX: Version 12

  • Additional Notes: Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

The Legion Go and the Rog Ally come with an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, which will be capable of running the game. On the other hand, the Steam Deck has a particularly less powerful APU, but we are of the opinion that it’s capable enough to run Pacific Drive on medium or low settings coupled with some tweaking. Right now, all you need to do is wait for February 22, 2024, to arrive, and then you will be able to see how the game runs on the PC handheld of your choice.
