NFL fans aren’t happy as YouTube has Sunday Ticket streaming issues

YouTube TV is already having issues following its partnership with NFL Sunday Ticket.

The streaming service took over for Direct TV as the exclusive home of Sunday Ticket for $2 billion, which sparked some level of concern regarding possible functionality issues from users.

According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, NFL fans had been reporting buffering issues with Sunday Ticket within minutes of Week 8 football games kicking off.

YouTube commented at approximately 1:53 p.m. Eastern Time on the issue.

“If you’re experiencing buffering issues on YouTube, our team is aware and working on a fix,” they wrote on X. “YouTube TV or NFL Sunday Ticket may also be impacted. we’ll follow up here once this has been resolved.”

YouTube TV notably had streaming issues during the NBA Playoffs in May.

As the Eastern Conference Finals began, a seven-game series that opened with the Miami Heat’s 123-116 victory over the Celtics in Boston, YouTube TV’s stream seemingly crashed as the service experienced issues during the fourth quarter, an issue that wasn’t resolved until 4:27 a.m., several hours after the game concluded.

To this point, YouTube TV hasn’t posted a follow-up, indicating that the issues are still ongoing.
