Pet Simulator 99: How to find Backrooms Maze Map

In Pet Simulator 99, each update brings a whole lot of exciting additions to the game, making it incredibly replayable. We are bringing this up because the latest update has taken exploration to unprecedented heights. The Backrooms Update in Pet Simulator 99 introduces players to randomly generated backrooms, where every corner holds mystery and adventure. The rewards and the new pets are fine but there’s a daunting challenge: navigating the winding backrooms without a map. Yes, that’s right! Pet Simulator 99 leaves the exploration entirely in your hands, but what if we told you there’s a way to discover a “map” for these seemingly confusing backrooms? Well, we shall explain what we mean. Just keep reading this till the end.

The concept of “backrooms” originated from creepy pastas and internet lore. Backrooms, originally, can be described as unsettling, empty, and endless spaces that exist beyond reality. In Pet Simulator 99, these backrooms are reimagined as randomly generated mazes filled with treasures and challenges. Now, going through these labyrinthine passages without a map can be akin to wandering in the dark, risking getting lost or missing out on valuable rewards. This is where having a map can be clutch! But there is no such thing as a “map” for these mazes, right? The answer is not so simple.

First of all, there is no in-game map item, especially considering the randomly generated nature of the backroom mazes. However, what we’re referring to when we mention “maps” isn’t a traditional in-game feature. Instead, it’s a clever exploit or glitch that can provide you with a sort of map hack, letting you be aware of your surroundings while exploring the backrooms. In other words, this graphical loophole offers a broad idea of the maze layout, which can come in clutch while exploring for loot. Here is how you can make use of the exploit.

How to trigger the glitch?

  • Enter the Maze: Start by entering the randomly generated backroom mazes in the game.

  • Reset Maze Layout (Optional): If you’re not satisfied with the layout of the maze upon entering, you can exit and re-enter to reset the arrangement. This step isn’t mandatory but can be useful if you prefer a different layout.

  • Locate the Farm: You will have to do a bit of running and random exploring until you find the Farm. This part is completely RNG so be patient. This farm will serve as a pivotal point for activating the exploit.

  • Navigate to the Top of the Farm: Once you find the farm, what you need to do is move to the top of the farm structure (house). Make sure that the in-game graphics settings are set to the highest level for optimal visualization.

  • Activate the Exploit: With the in-game graphics settings maxed out, swivel your mouse/cam controls and try zooming out till you notice that the entire map becomes visible from your vantage point atop the farm. At this point, you can take a screenshot of the visible section of the maze. This exploit allows you to see the entire maze layout, providing a bird’s-eye view of your surroundings.

  • Use the Map for Navigation: Take advantage of the map to plan your route and navigate through the maze more efficiently. Visualize key landmarks or objectives, such as specific buildings or areas of interest, to guide your exploration.

Note: If this is not working for you, chances are that the developers fixed the glitch. While it has not been fixed as of writing this guide, chances are high that it will be in the future. After all, as helpful as it can be, it is still a glitch.
