The Galaxy S24 series is turning out to be quite the hit in some markets. We recently heard that the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra broke all pre-booking records in India, and Korean media is now reporting that pre-orders of the new flagship in the first week have reached almost 1.2 million in Samsung’s home country.
Last year, Samsung reportedly received 1.09 million pre-orders of the Galaxy S23 series in Korea in the first week after the official announcement, and the Galaxy S24 lineup has turned out to be even more popular. Total annual sales are predicted to reach almost 36 million by the end of the year, which would make the Galaxy S24 the first flagship since 2019’s Galaxy S10 to cross the 30 million mark.
According to the biggest South Korean carriers, more people have turned up at stores to check out the Galaxy S24 series in person, likely to see all the AI features in action. As expected, the Ultra model is seeing the most interest, with one carrier official revealing that more than 60% of pre-orders are for the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
However, while the Galaxy S24 could beat its predecessors, it probably won’t come close to the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+. The Note 10 and Note 10+ received almost 1.4 million pre-orders back in 2019 and hold the record for the most pre-ordered Galaxy device ever in Korea. Whether that record will ever be broken remains to be seen – Samsung will certainly have a hard time doing so if it intends to follow through with ideas like charging customers to take advantage of AI features in the future.
