Miki Agrawal on Innovation In Entrepreneurship

Born and raised in Montreal, Miki Agrawal had to travel to land in her new home in Austin, TX. A social entrepreneur as well as the founder of WILD, Thinx, and TUSHY, Miki Agrawal has made it her mission to change many of the industries that we've grown so accustomed to. Driven by a desire to disrupt the status quo, Agrawal turns to years of industry experience as well as her own desire to see change rendered in key areas of her interest.

Let's dive deeper into the world of Miki Agrawal, the founding of TUSHY, and the work done by one of Austin's most prominent social entrepreneurs.

Making Big Moves Early

Long before Miki Agrawal was a household name as an entrepreneur, she was just another student with aspirations of making big moves in her career. Agrawal attended and graduated from Cornell University, where she acquired her Bachelor of Science in Business and Communication. Shortly after graduating and working as a banking analyst at Deutsche Bank in New York City right before 9/11, Agrawal wasn't destined to stay in the industry long. Impacted by the tragic event, Miki Agrawal knew that she wanted to shift her focus to something more important and longer-lasting.

With a personal motto of elevating people as well as the planet, Agrawal decided that she wanted to live deeply so that she could share her passions with the world while building something better for the future. Honing in on the idea of environmentalism and greener methods of operating, Agrawal would eventually develop the TUSHY bidet.

Innovation and Social Stewardship

It wasn't until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic that the rest of the world came to realize the benefits of the TUSHY bidet, but it wasn't then that Agrawal's mind had begun to conceptualize the idea. Driven by the idea of saving trees from getting flushed down the toilet as toilet paper, Agrawal decided that she wanted to introduce something to the world that was as good for nature as it was for the human body.

TUSHY was founded as an entrepreneurial venture by Agrawal with a broad array of products to help manage the 2020 toilet paper shortage. Leading the way was the TUSHY bidet-style attachment, engineering a cleaner and more hygienic bathroom experience. Since its conception, TUSHY has been sold to almost one million customers. Right now, Agrawal is focused on her primary goal of saving a total of 15 million trees per year.

More than just an environmentalist's dream bidet, TUSHY is also marketed toward the millions of individuals struggling with personal and chronic medical ailments. The traditional bidet by TUSHY is ideal for helping these individuals address their needs in a hygienic and comfortable manner.

On a personal level, Miki Agrawal is focused on getting life done in the best way possible by living deeply and embracing the experience along the way. Agrawal says of any past struggles in her life and whether she would change any of them: "None of them - each has made me who I am today and taught me many lessons. No regrets."
