Young righty Tyler Stuart, who was excellent last season between High-A and Double-A (2.20 ERA) but was not invited to major league camp, had a strong Grapefruit League debut in his spring call-up.
The prospect threw two scoreless, one-hit innings and retired major league hitters such as Joey Gallo, Keibert Ruiz and Jesse Winker.

Caught my eye
Top prospect Jett Williams continues to make things happen with his legs. Williams, who stole 45 bases in 121 minor league games last season, reached first base on an infield single that eluded the pitcher. He then took second base on a wild pitch and advanced to third when the throw went into center field.
Tuesday’s schedule
Adrian Houser is expected to get his first start of the spring when the Mets play the Marlins at Clover Park at 1:10 p.m.
