The Nuggets may be getting another player similar to Nikola Jokic next season – so similar that you only need to switch out one letter.
Nikola Jovic is Serbian, just like the back-to-back MVP, and also works as a playmaker and scoring option for the squads he’s played on. In fact, he even played on the same Serbian pro team as Jokic, the Adriatic League’s Mega Basket.
The 19-year-old Serbian product Jovic (born in Leicester, England) is predicted to be selected around the mid-to-late first round of the 2022 NBA Draft. The Nuggets have the No. 21 pick. And Denver brought Jovic in for a workout in the pre-draft process. Could they double-dip?

With a small forward build, the Serbian can also pass incredibly well and has good court vision. Also, for his size, he is a good ball handler and can act as a primary playmaker for whatever team he lands on.
Jovic, like many young players, is prone to turnovers – he averaged 2.7 this past season. The Mega Basket star also is fairly skinny – he weighs 210 pounds – but with his frame and age can easily fill it out as he joins the league.
Any team that drafts Jovic will get a promising player with upside.
And maybe, he’ll be the second star Nikola on Denver come next season.
