SpongeBob SquarePants went viral after the animated character took a shot at Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio’s dating history during the first-ever Nickelodeon Super Bowl 2024 livestream.
In a clip uploaded to X (formerly Twitter), both SpongeBob and Patrick Star can be heard comparing the actor, 49, to the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle” character of the same name and his love for pizza.
“Catch me if you can with these pizzas Leonardo ‘da cap is low,” Star (voiced by Bill Fagerbakke) said in the clip on Sunday.
Things only got more unhinged when SpongeBob (voiced by Tom Kenny) jumped into the conversation with “Leonardo DiCaprio, 25” referring to a scene in the cartoon where he and Star go nuts over the digit.
“That’s about his dating history,” Kenny, 61, chimed in.
The animated character’s dig at the star sent several social media users into a frenzy.

“OUT OF EVERYONE AT THE NICKELODEON SUPER BOWL BROADCAST, IT HAD TO BE SPONGEBOB,” a second user laughed.
“What does it say about you when SpongeBob is making jokes about your dating life,” snorted a third user.
Others praised Kenny’s unhinged behavior.
“l love that SpongeBob is a bit more unhinged when Tom Kenny doesn’t have to read a script,” gushed one fan.

“I love how Tom Kenny is absolutely certain Nick can never replace him, so he feels free to just go buck wild. Love him,” commented a third person.
The “Titanic” star’s tendency to date women under 25 has become well-known over the years.
DiCaprio, who was recently snubbed during the 2024 Oscar nominations, is currently romantically involved with model Vittoria Ceretti, 25.
The pair sparked romance rumors when they were spotted at a club in Ibiza, Spain, in August 2023. Last month, they were also photographed at the newly opened restaurant Cipriani in Beverly Hills.

The “Revenant” star previously dated “Daisy Jones & The Six” actress Camila Morrone for four years. They went their separate ways shortly after her 25th birthday in 2022.
DiCaprio’s love life has publicly been poked fun at before. Last year, Amy Schumer dragged the actor while co-hosting the 2022 Oscars alongside Regina King and Wanda Sykes.
“I mean, Leonardo DiCaprio — what can I even say about him? He’s done so much to fight climate change and leave behind a cleaner, greener planet for his girlfriends,” she said at the time.
“Because he’s older, and they’re younger,” she went on. “You get it.”
DiCaprio has also dated Gigi Hadid, Nina Agdal, Lorena Rae, Toni Garrn, Blake Lively and Gisele Bündchen, whom he was with from 2000 to 2005. He was 30 and she was 24 at the time of their split.
