Kyrie Irving could rejoin Nets as soon as Sunday against Grizzlies

Kyrie Irving had “work to do,” Nets owner Joe Tsai told The Post last week, before his suspension would end and he would be allowed to rejoin the team. It appears the controversial star is close to doing just that.

The embattled Nets guard is apparently nearing completion of the steps needed in the wake of the controversy surrounding his promotion of an anti-Semitic film on social media last month, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, and could rejoin the club as soon as Sunday.

Irving has been suspended since Nov. 3.

“He has to show people that he’s sorry,” Tsai told The Post’s Brian Lewis on Saturday. “What’s important — and what people miss — is he only apologized after he was suspended.”

Irving, who was issued a suspension of at least five games, has missed the last seven for the Nets. Brooklyn is 4-3 in that span.

The Nets’ next game is Thursday night in Portland. Then they’ll return home to Brooklyn to host the Grizzlies on Sunday night.
