Joe Flacco: My kids tell me I ‘stink’ all the time

Joe Flacco’s kids have no filter when it comes to their dad’s play on the football field.

On Tuesday, the Jets quarterback shared a hilarious story about how his five children tell him he’s “not good” and “stinks” at football.

“I come home and my kids are like, ‘Dad you stink,'” Flacco, 37, said during the Aug. 30 episode of “One Jets Drive” on the team’s YouTube channel.

“You guys lost again? I’m trying to tell my son about you know, ‘Listen, when you’re hitting the ball, you gotta be able to get your timing right.’ Well, you stink!”

Flacco and his wife Dana have five children: sons Stephen (born in 2012), Daniel (born in 2013), Francis (born in 2015), and Thomas (born in 2018), and their only daughter, Evelyn (born in 2016).

The couple — who were high school sweethearts in New Jersey — have been married since 2011.

Flacco’s best years under center are certainly behind him, following a successful run with the Ravens across 11 seasons from 2008-2018. In 2012, Flacco led Baltimore to a Super Bowl title in a win against the 49ers, and was named the game’s MVP.

The quarterback went on to have short stints with the Broncos, Jets and Eagles before he landed back in New York last October.

Last season, the 4-13 Jets finished last in the AFC East standings with a winning percentage of just .235. The 14-year veteran, Flacco had a completion percentage of 64.3 and 338 passing yards last season, with 42 attempts and 27 completions.

Flacco will likely begin the coming season as the Jets’ starting quarterback while QB1, Zach Wilson, recovers from arthroscopic knee surgery. Flacco has gone 0-5 as the Jets’ fill-in starter over the last two seasons.

Jets coach Robert Saleh has not yet named a starting quarterback for Week 1 when they host the Ravens.
