Jets select running back Braelon Allen in fourth round after flurry of NFL draft moves

After trading down three times, the Jets made their first selection on Day 3 of the NFL draft and continued to add to their offense.

The Jets drafted Wisconsin running back Braelon Allen with pick No. 134 in the fourth round.

This came after the team traded away picks 111, 126 and 129.

Allen joins a backfield led by Breece Hall that also includes Israel Abanikanda, a 2023 draft pick.

Allen was a three-year starter at Wisconsin and led the team in rushing in each of those three seasons. He had 20 career 100-yard rushing games. Allen is only 20 years old.

The Jets began the day with three fourth-round picks.

They traded pick 111 to the Packers in exchange for pick 126 (fourth round) and 190 (sixth round).

Joe Douglas then sent pick 126 to the Lions in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick.

He then traded pick 129 to the 49ers in exchange for two fifth-round picks this year (picks 173 and 176).
