Emmy winners 2021: Live updates with nominees

Will “The Crown” nab the drama crown, or will “Lovecraft Country” feel the love?

And will the Jason Sudeikis comedy “Ted Lasso” have a winning season, or could Jean Smart’s “Hacks” have the last laugh?

There will be lots of winged gold up for grabs — and some heated competition, for sure — as the 2021 Emmy Awards kick off at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The show, airing live on CBS and streaming on sister network Paramount+, will look a bit different from last year’s virtual ceremony, which was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel in front of a cardboard cutout audience due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. However, first-time host and “The Neighborhood” star Cedric the Entertainer said the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences event still would be an “intimate” one in a recent interview with USA Today.

Helping to keep the show rolling will be a long roster of presenters, including nominee Rodriguez, country icon Dolly Parton, Awkwafina (“Awkwafina is Nora From Queens”), Ellen Pompeo (“Grey’s Anatomy”), “Impeachment: American Crime Story” star Annaleigh Ashford, filmmaker Ava DuVernay (“13th”), LL Cool J (“NCIS”), Michael Douglas (“The Kominsky Method”), Taraji P. Henson (“Empire”), Yara Shahidi (“Grown-ish”), Sarah Paulson (“Ratched”), Ken Jeong (“The Masked Singer”), Beanie Feldstein (“Impeachment: American Crime Story”), Seth Rogen, Tracee Ellis Ross (“Black-ish”), Mindy Kaling (“Never Have I Ever”) and Catherine O’Hara, Annie Murphy and Dan and Eugene Levy of last year’s huge Emmy winner “Schitt’s Creek.”
