Update Your Graphics Drivers

The game’s crash during launch may be a result of outdated graphic drivers. Therefore, update your PC’s graphics drivers to the latest version available. Whether you are using AMD or NVIDIA, you can always update your drivers by heading to NVIDIA’s official site here or AMD’s official site here. On the other hand, if the game is unable to launch after a driver update, you can always roll back to the previous stable version.

Meet The Game’s Minimum Requirements

Meeting the game’s minimum requirements is necessary to launch the game without crash issues. Therefore, always make sure that your system specifications meet the minimum requirements of the game. Here are the game’s minimum requirements:

Operating System: Windows 10.

Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 3 3300X.

Memory: 12GB RAM.

Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3GB or AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB.

DirectX: Version 12.

Storage: 60GB available space.

Delete The Temp Folder

You can also delete your system’s temp folder in order to fix Elden Ring Crashing issues at launch. This process is pretty simple. In order to do this, you have to type in %temp% in your search bar and hit enter. Open the %temp% folder and then, delete all the files in that folder.

Disable Steam Overlay

Another fix that players can try out to fix the crash at launch issue is to disable the Steam overlay. You can do this by going to your Steam library -> Right-clicking on Elden Ring and selecting Properties -> Then, go to the General tab, uncheck the box next to the option that says Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game. Finally, you can restart the game.

Replace The Game’s DLL File

Replacing the game’s DLL file can help fix the crash at launch issue. In order to do this, you have to find oo2core_6_win64.dll in the game file folder. Next, you have to rename oo2core_6_win64.dll. Then, you have to download the oo2core_6_win64.dll to replace the older one. Now, you have to go to the game folder where Elden Ring is located. Here, you have to rename start_protected_game.exe to another random name of your choice. Then, you have to make a copy of elden_ring.exe. Finally, you can rename this newly made copy to start_protected_game.exe.
