Because of the Covid-19 pandemic which is not over yet, cashless payments have been preferred more in comparison to cash payments. It doesn’t matter whether it is an online or offline store, cashless payments have been made available everywhere now. It has been done to reduce physical contact between shopkeepers and customers and so that people don’t have to step out of their home and their daily requirements are delivered at their doorstep with just one phone call.
If we talk about online payments, there are various options. One of them Samsung Pay. It is a mobile payment and digital wallet service that has been introduced by Samsung Electronics and you can make payments with a compatible phone or any Samsung-produced devices. Initially, it was launched at South Korea in 20th August 2015 and at United States in 28th September 2015.
Samsung Pay can be used for payments in almost everywhere. But now the question is does retail company Kroger accepts Samsung Pay for online payments? Let me tell you that Kroger has an option of Kroger Pay that you can use for online payments but the platform has not yet officially released the option of Samsung Pay in their platform for payments.
The option of contactless payment through Samsung Pay was put to test in 2020 at 61 stores of Kroger at Washington’s Puget Sound area and metropolitan Portland, Ore. But till now, there is no news or update about the results of that test and neither the option of payment through Samsung Pay has been rolled out on a global basis. Even Google Pay was included in this test.
Definitely Kroger has been trying at their level best to introduce Samsung Pay as a contactless payment system in their platform because even Chris Albi, the president of QFC at Seattle has said that contactless payment would make life easier for Kroger customers and offer them the freedom of choice across different options that includes cash, debit card, credit card and check. At a phase where we have been advised to avoid physical contact, contacless payments can definitely prove to be helpful for us. For now, Kroger has the Kroger Pay option that you can use to make payments for your purchase.
