Is popcorn the reason for Alex Rodriguez’s broken engagement with Jennifer Lopez?
The former Yankee finally spoke out about why he’s single on Thursday night while on the Fox Sports MLB broadcast.
While talking about Randy Arozarena and the Rays eating popcorn mid-Red Sox domination in Game 1 of the ALDS, Rodriguez’s co-hosts — Kevin Burkhardt, David Ortiz, and Frank Thomas — surprised him with an old video that showed him and ex-girlfriend Cameron Diaz.
The footage showed the actress feeding him popcorn at Super Bowl 45 in 2010.
“KB, that’s maybe why I’m single,” Rodriguez said with a smirk, as his co-hosts laughed and continued to troll him.
Rodriguez, then with the Yankees, and Diaz dated from 2010 to 2011.
The broadcaster moved on with former WWE wrestler Torrie Wilson and tech CEO Annie Wojcicki before he began dating Lopez in March 2017.
Rodriguez and the singer got engaged in March 2019, and announced their breakup with a joint statement mid-April 2021. Page Six confirmed the couple’s split a month before they did.
