CAA Signs ‘The Greatest Hits’ Filmmaker Ned Benson

EXCLUSIVE: Ned Benson, the filmmaker behind Searchlight Pictures’ forthcoming romance The Greatest Hits, has signed with CAA.

Starring Lucy Boynton, Justin H. Min, David Corenswet and Austin Crute, Benson’s latest has been described as a love story centering on the connection between music and memory, and how they transport us, sometimes literally. He directed the pic from his own script and also produced alongside Michael London, Stephanie Davis, Shannon Gaulding, and Cassandra Kulukundis. A release date has not yet been set.

Previously, Benson made his feature directorial debut with The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, a three-part drama, led by Jessica Chastain and James McAvoy, which also stars Viola Davis, Bill Hader, and William Hurt. Looking at a married couple’s relationship from two perspectives, the film was initially presented at TIFF 2013 in two cuts, subtitled Him and Her. These were later synthesized into The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Them, which world premiered in the Un Certain Regard section of Cannes the following year.

A contributor to the story for Marvel Studios’ Black Widow, Benson’s work has been selected twice for The Black List, acknowledging the year’s best unproduced material. The multi-hyphenate continues to be represented by Stephanie Davis at Wetdog Entertainment, Alan Grodin at Weintraub Tobin Chediak, and Paula Woods.
