Battlefield 2042 Maps & Dynamic Events : Here are all the details

EA DICE held a live stream discussion session about Battlefield 2042 and went on to reveal several things about the game, from maps to dynamic events. Let’s take a look at everything that was shown off in the event, shall we? Right, let’s get into it.

First up, it was confirmed that the game would be a multiplayer-only game, and will support 128-player matches in maps that would obviously have to be proportionally massive. Just going by the first things here, it seems obvious that Battlefield 2042 seems to be EA and Battlefield’s response to Call of Duty: Warzone, another multiplayer-only game that supports a hundred or so players in every match. Considering the massive success of Warzone over the past year, it is not surprising to see Battlefield wanting to compete with them for the newly emerging player base of this type of game. The maps featured in the game will have dynamic weather and include other environmental hazards that players will have to cope with whilst trying to not be mulled by enemy players. The maps that have been unveiled are as follows: “Orbital”, in Korou, French Guiana. “Hourglass” in Doha, Qatar, “Kaleidoscope” in Songdo South Korea, “Manifest” in Brani Island, Singapore, “Discarded” in Alang, India, “Breakaway” in Queen Maud Land, Antarctica, and “Renewal” in the Eastern Desert, Egypt. An open beta was confirmed to be coming sometime before October of this year, and special invitees will get a look at the Alpha version of the game in July. Battlefield 2042 also brings in a new class of soldiers to play with, called the Specialists. They will have their own traits, customisable loadout, and speciality. The All-Out Warfare mode is the mode that will feature the 128 player battles in dynamic maps, which EA describes as: “Experience the intensity of All-Out Warfare in large-scale battles like never before on maps filled with dynamic weather, dangerous environmental hazards and spectacular world events that see tornadoes rip across the map and sandstorms block out the sun,” The second mode is called Hazard Zone, and is said to be unique new game mode developed by DICE. The third and final game mode is undisclosed and is currently in development.
