Astros no-hit Phillies in Game 4 to even up World Series

What a difference a day makes. From five home runs to no hits for the Phillies.

Four Astros pitchers combined to no-hit Philadelphia in a 5-0 win in Game 4 of the World Series at Citizen Bank Park on Wednesday night to even things at 2-2. The Phillies walked three times.

It is just the second postseason no-hitter and the second in the World Series after Don Larson’s perfect game in 1956. It came a day after the Phillies, who lost for the first time at home in this postseason, blasted five homers en route to a 7-0 victory.

Houston starter Cristian Javier threw six no-hit innings while striking out nine and the Astros did all their scoring during a five-run fifth inning.

The last postseason no-hitter was thrown by the Phillies’ Roy Halladay in 2010.
