‘Millionaire Matchmaker’ Patti Stanger says men are intimidated by women now: ‘Nobody knows the rules anymore’

The game has changed — but Patti Stanger is still the same.

Singles everywhere seem to be complaining about the dating scene these days, whether it be the deplorable state of apps or that no one knows how to pick someone up in person anymore.

Enter Stanger, 62, the audacious love liaison who helmed the long-running aughts series “The Millionaire Matchmaker.” Now she’s teamed up with Nick Viall, 43, of “The Bachelor” fame, for “Patti Stanger: The Matchmaker,” which premieres Thursday at 8 p.m. Eastern on the CW.

They help lovelorn singles — wealthy or not — navigate changing dating dynamics to become the most eligible versions of themselves to find that special someone.

“It’s like nobody knows the rules anymore,” Stanger, who has long valued traditional gender roles, griped to The Post. “The old regimen doesn’t work anymore.”

Although women are increasingly successful in many areas of their lives, Stanger believes that shifting societal norms have negatively affected how we date.

“Women went out, we made money, we became successful and the men became intimidated and resentful of it,” Stanger said. “Women don’t have men coming and taking and paying our bills and going to take care of us and buy a house and put babies in us. It doesn’t work that way anymore.”

American women are now outpacing men in several arenas — including college degrees, home ownership and, in certain cities, salary. Plus, some are showing less interest than men in having children — and they don’t even need a male partner to get pregnant if they decide to have kids.

“They changed the game,” Stanger said of strong women.

A record number of 40-year-olds in the US have never been married, and most of these millennials are living alone, according to census data.

Americans today are also believed to be having less sex than previous generations — despite narratives of crazy hookup culture.

“People have lost their way,” Stanger declared. “We’re social creatures. We are not meant to be alone.”

The daring dating virtuoso doesn’t have a simple solution, but she encourages singles to put themselves out there in whatever way feels comfortable for them — be brave, but trust your gut.

“We don’t know how we’re going to land, so namaste to those who are being bold and trying new things,” Stanger said.

The best piece of dating advice she can share is one she was given and follows herself: “Don’t give up. Don’t give up — love is always around the corner.”
