Rapper Megan Thee Stallion has donated more than $8,000 for the funeral of a fan after she was informed on social media by a user that a fan of hers had died unexpectedly and the family was struggling financially.
"Meg we lost a hottie," the user wrote on Twitter, tagging the 26-year-old rapper. "Our best friend passed away unexpectedly. They absolutely loved you, listening to ur songs was something we did every time we were together. We’re helping their family w funeral costs. We started a gofundme & are halfway there. @theestallion."
The user also tweeted a GoFundMe campaign link in the same thread and wrote: "Can you please help us out and RT the link?"
Stallion replied to the user’s tweet, asking: "How much do y’all need?" to which the person replied: "We need 8k." The rapper shared a screenshot of her donation with heart emojis.
The user, overwhelmed with the rapper's donation, responded with an appreciation tweet.
"I am crying so hard… I will ride for you until the day I die. I know our friend is up in heaven smiling so hard right now. I can’t believe this. Thank you for helping us and their family. All the love in the world to you," the user stated.
This is not the first time when the rapper made a generous donation. In March, Stallion donated $100,000 in partnership with Fashion Nova to the foundation created by Breonna Taylor's mother, Tamika Palmer.
African-American Taylor lost her life in the middle of the night on March 13 last year when Louisville police officers broke open her apartment door and shot at her.
The rapper had earlier donated $50,000 in collaboration with Fashion Nova and Asian activist, May Lee, in March to help the Asian-American community after the shootings in Atlanta.
"I am heartbroken by the loss of eight individuals taken from their families on March 16 in a senseless, violent attack against Asian Americans," Stallion wrote at the time.
On the work front, the rapper will be performing live at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami for the 2021 Rolling Loud Miami concert starting from July 23 to July 25. The lineup includes A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott, Post Malone, and 21 Savage.
The rapper will also feature in the movie titled, "The Best Man Wedding," starring Eddie Cibrian, Steve Harvey, and Bobby Brown in the key roles.
