Cillian Murphy is not playing the villain in ‘Far Cry 7‘.

On April 20, 2024, the famous Ubisoft leaker, J0nathan, confirmed that Academy Award winner Murphy is rumored to star as the villain in ‘Far Cry 7.’ However, on Twitter X, J0nathan shared images announcing the introduction of ‘Far Cry 7’ in 72 hours, along with Murphy’s involvement, which turned out to be untrue.

In an update from @xj0nathan, posted 12 hours after his original tweet, he clarified, “Mind you, I NEVER said Cillian Murphy was going to be in the game. The image means something else.”

According to an Insider Gaming leak, ‘Far Cry 7’ will have a non-linear story where players rescue their kidnapped family from the ‘Sons of Truth’. The game features a 72-hour in-game timer, pausing in safe houses.

In Far Cry 7, you can rescue family members in any order, but some may die, changing the story. To fully complete the game, you must save all family members and defeat the ‘Sons of Truth’.

When is ‘Far Cry 7’ Set to Release?

‘Far Cry 7’ is set to release in Fall 2025, developed by Ubisoft Montreal and moving from the Dunia engine to Snowdrop. It will be available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Stadia, and Amazon Luna.
