Lane Kiffin says new Ole Miss punter was found at a fraternity ‘keg party’

Well, this is a new one.

During a media session Sunday, Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin spoke about the team’s new addition, Charlie Pollock, who apparently was discovered at a frat party.

“I don’t know a whole lot about him. I think he was down at the frat house, like at a keg party or something, where they got him from,” Kiffin said, per Alabama.com.

“We have conditioning work to do with my guy. But we just said, ‘Hey, someone go find a punter around campus,’ so we found one that actually used to punt in Division I. So, you never know.”

Pollock, a 6-foot-1, 250-pound punter, originally signed with Nevada before entering the NCAA transfer portal at the conclusion of 2020, according to FootballScoop.com. He was regarded as the No. 13 punter in the country in his recruiting class.

The Ole Miss Rebels will open their season on Saturday, September 3, against Troy.
