J.P. Morgan Asset Management announced that Jon Maier will join as Chief ETF Strategist, effective March 18. In this role, Maier will oversee ETF Insights, a global program of actionable thought leadership and resources focused on ETFs.
ETF Insights joins a suite of investor programs from J.P. Morgan Asset Management, including Market Insights, which is celebrating its 20th year as an industry standard for helping investors build better portfolios.
Maier’s hiring comes at a time of high ETF demand from investors worldwide. And J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s global ETF business has grown to over $160 billion in assets under management (AUM) over the past five years, placing the firm second in active ETF AUM and eighth in overall ETF AUM.
Maier brings a lot of credibility and a proven track record, having worked in research-oriented roles for nearly 30 years. He previously served as Chief Investment Officer of ETFs for Global X. Before that, he was Managing Director and ETF Strategist at Merrill Lynch, where he oversaw the management of $50 billion. Maier will report to Bryon Lake,
Managing Director / Global Head of ETF Solutions at J.P. Morgan Asset Management.
