Immanuel Quickley misses out on NBA Rising Stars nod

Immanuel Quickley’s breakout rookie season with the Knicks wasn’t enough to land him on the roster for the NBA’s Rising Stars Challenge.

The league has eliminated the annual game on All-Star weekend this year involving the top rookies and sophomores in the game due to COVID-19 restrictions. The United States and World rosters still were named Wednesday to honor those players selected.

Second-year Knicks guard RJ Barrett (Canada) was chosen as a member of the World team.

Quickley, the 25th overall pick in the 2020 draft out of Kentucky, is averaging 12.6 points and 2.4 assists in 32 appearances for the Knicks this season.
