Tech giant Google announced Monday its flagship smartphone for the year, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

The new Pixel 6 is scheduled to arrive sometime this fall. The device will be the first product from the company to house its in-house System-on-Chip. Dubbed as Tensor, the mobile processor leverages the company's expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) to provide a more powerful and well-integrated machine learning device.

Google Pixel 6 features major changes on the smartphone's overall design, as well as on its internals. The new flagship phone will be available in two lines, the Google Pixel 6 and the Google Pixel 6 Pro. The company has not yet shared the devices' actual dimensions but the Pro model appears larger and it seems to be of the same size as the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

There is a noticeable band on the rear of the device, which is about an inch tall and appears in black, peachy red or lime green color variants. Below that, there is a horizontal camera bump that spreads across the phone's case. The company, in a blog post Monday, said the improved lenses and sensors "are now too big to fit into the traditional square."

The base of Pixel 6 features a matte aluminum finish with a 6.4-inch display.  It has a 90 Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The Pro variant sports a much shinier polished aluminum finish with a wider 120Hz QHD+ 6.7-inch display.
