Gaming: Is It Set To Ramp Up?

Since the release of the latest generation of consoles, it’s fair to say that gaming has slumped. New, stellar AAA titles have been few and far between, while those which have launched have had a mixed if not negative reaction. Even PC gaming has taken a knock on hit, even though the impressive new RTX 3 series has been released and has been received very well. With a new year in full swing, maybe there’s more to look forward to.

PC Components Are Getting Easier To Find

Again, a new graphics card release is brilliant, but some of the sheen is taken away from the release when it’s near impossible to get one. The same was on the PS5. The reason is obviously due to demand, but COVID did its best to get in the way too. Now things are settling down, people can start building PC’s again, which is great for the industry. Whether you’re looking for the best motherboard for ryzen 7 5800x or a new graphics card to upgrade your current rig, you’ve got a lot more chances of finding one in multiple different stores, both physical and online.

New And Old

There are a lot of new games billed to come out this year. There are also older games which are getting revamped. The Witcher 3 is a key example. Fans are waiting with baited breath to see what CD Project Red and their third party studio will come up with after the disaster launch of CyberPunk 2077. With so much for the new generation to offer, people are waiting to see what it can do when pushed to its limit. Halo Infinite didn’t really scratch that itch for the Xbox, while Playstation fans are waiting for Gran Turismo and Horizon zero dawn. The duality of new and old coming to PC, Xbox and Playstation will make for an interesting year for sure.

VR Is Still A Thing

It was around in the late 80’s and early 90’s but never really took off. However, VR is back and it’s staying. The quest is a standalone VR headset by meta which is doing well in undercutting the other VR products, especially when you can connect it to the PC and play proper games through it. Playstation have announced the VR2, which is slated to come out later this year. VR is still driving forward and could potentially be the future of gaming if it can utilise current tech to a high standard and remain innovative going forward.
