Forza Horizon 5 : Does it support 4K at 60 FPS on Xbox Series X|S ?

Forza Horizon 5’s first-ever trailer was just unveiled at Xbox and Bethesda’s showcase, and it must be said that the game looks absolutely incredible on the Xbox Series X that it was filmed on. Forza Horizon 5 has clearly made full use of the new and improved capabilities of the Xbox Series X|S, with ray-tracing being a major graphics feature being confirmed for the two next-generation consoles. The game will also be coming out on Xbox One, and there is every chance that it is the last ever Forza Horizon title for that console, marking the end of an incredible era.

In this article, we will be talking about the various technical and graphical improvements that will be made to Forza Horizon 5 as the game expands into next-gen hardware for the first time ever. As Microsoft and Turn 10 themselves put it, “Xbox Series X|S enables us to provide players the most technologically advanced Forza Horizon experience yet”. This is not much of a surprise, since a move to the newer hardware was bound to stretch the limits of what the game could provide us.

The draw distances of the game were described as “extreme”, meaning structures and landscapes far away from the player will look better than ever. The game will perpetually run on 4K and 30 FPS on the Xbox Series X, and on 1080p and 30 FPS on the slightly less beefy Xbox Series S. However, for those of us who love our games to be running on the best possible framerate instead, Microsoft has confirmed that the game will include a Performance mode, where the framerate will be locked in at 60 FPS. Something for all racing game fans!
