Fans thrown down stairs during wild brawl at Giants-Padres game

A Padres fan appeared to viciously kick a man down a set of stairs in a wild brawl that broke out during Monday’s game against the San Francisco Giants.

In video footage from the fight at Petco Park, one fan in a Padres jersey attempted to kick another man down stairs in the right-field stands — but the man wound up staying on his feet and pulling the Padres fan down with him.

The scuffle sparked other fans to spring into action and throw punches while security tried to break it up.

It’s unclear what led to the altercation during San Diego’s 1-0 loss to the Giants, and if anyone was seriously injured. Padres fans likely felt tense at the time, due the the team’s five-game losing streak — which occurred after San Diego acquired superstar outfielder Juan Soto in a blockbuster trade with the Nationals at the deadline.

A spokesperson for the San Diego Police Dept. told TMZ that “security handled and two subjects were ejected. We were not made aware of fight until it was concluded.”

The Padres rallied to collect back-to-back wins against the Giants, including a 13-7 takedown of San Francisco on Wednesday.
