Disgraced Matt Lauer re-lists $44M Hamptons home after years without luck

Disgraced former NBC host Matt Lauer is listing his Hamptons estate yet again after it has glided on and off the market in the past several years without a buyer.

But the “Today Show” host is not budging on the price, listing the 12-bedroom, 12-bathroom home for a whopping $43.995 million.

The traditional North Haven home first hit the market in June 2019 for $44.8 million, two years after Lauer was fired from his longtime role at NBC after facing allegations of sexual misconduct and assault, The Post reported.

But without any offers, the home was briefly taken off the market, only to resurface again in the fall of 2019 for $43.99 million, according to Realtor.com

Still not seeing any offers, the listing was removed, but made an appearance last September in the hopes that an enticing real estate market amid the pandemic could lure a buyer. But no such luck.

Lauer, 63, and his wife at the time, Annette Roque, had purchased the home, located five minutes from the upscale Sag Harbor community, from Richard Gere in 2016 for $36.5 million, property records show.

Gere initially asked for $65 million, but ultimately dropped the price to attract a buyer.

Spanning approximately 14,000 square feet and situated on 6.3 acres of land, the luxe home comprises three lots.

The main house, known as Strongheart Manor, was originally built in 1902 and has been renovated and restored with the best technology, according to the listing. The home has been described as energy efficient and geothermal.

Interior highlights include a screened-in porch spanning the entire length of the house, numerous entertaining areas, including the formal living and dining room and multiple fireplaces throughout.

Additionally, two guest houses have been completely renovated and also come with a built-in tea house. The entire property is gated for optimal privacy and security.

Exterior features include a 60-foot heated waterfront pool, rolling lawns and flowering gardens, specimen trees, an outdoor fireplace pavilion, a gym, a basketball court and room for tennis.

Since Lauer was embroiled in controversy, the disgraced former anchor has offloaded several properties, including his New York City apartment that sold for over $7 million in 2018.

Lauer still owns a 25-acre Sag Harbor country estate which he also attempted to sell for $12.75 million in 2019.

Roque, 54, will keep Bright Side Farm, their 47 ½-acre horse farm in nearby Water Mill, which they bought for $3.5 million in 2012. The two finalized their divorce on Sept. 6, 2019.

Reps for Lauer did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment about this property.

Susan Breitenbach with the Corcoran Group holds the listing.
