Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice took “full responsibility” for his involvement in a six-vehicle accident on Saturday in Dallas, which left multiple people injured and a 4-year-old boy shaking and crying, in a statement on social media.
It came after police confirmed to The Dallas Morning News they were searching for the 23-year-old Rice as a suspected driver who was in a high-speed race between a Corvette and Lamborghini before a crash that resulted in four people suffering minor injuries — with two individuals hospitalized and two treated at the scene.
“Today I met with Dallas PD investigators regarding Saturday’s accident,” Rice shared on his X and Instagram accounts. “I take full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities. I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted in Saturday’s accident.”

The drivers of the Corvette and Lamborghini fled from the scene after the crash without stopping to check on anyone, a Dallas police spokesperson told the Morning News.
Rice shared the statement after he admitted to being involved in the crash in a text message to the company that owned the Lamborghini he leased, according to a TMZ report on Tuesday.

TMZ SportsKyle Coker, a lawyer from The Classic Lifestyle where Rice leased the Lamborghini, told TMZ that the Chiefs star was in the Lamborghini at the time of the crash and owns the Corvette, which was driven by a friend.
Coker also said his client sent a text message to The Classic Lifestyle, informing them of the crash and promising to pay for the luxury car, which was totaled.

TMZ SportsCoker also said Rice was the only one permitted to drive the 2021 matte black Lamborghini — which he leased for $1,749 a day — per the leasing agreement.
Dashcam video obtained by WFAA showed the moment the two speeding cars lost control and crashed with several other vehicles.
Photos from the crash site were obtained by TMZ, which, according to witnesses, showed occupants of the two cars that caused the crash leaving the scene and walking along the side of the expressway while first responders tended to the victims.
Rice, who grew up in North Richland Hills outside of Fort Worth, Texas, reportedly was with friends at a bar/restaurant, Local Tap & Table hours before the crash.
The Chiefs and the NFL are monitoring the situation.
