Broncos have NFL Draft interest in Bo Nix after Zach Wilson trade

The Broncos may not be done bolstering their quarterback depth.

NFL insider Albert Breer reported Tuesday that the Broncos had been “quietly” looking into Oregon QB Bo Nix.

Denver has the 12th overall pick in the draft, which begins Thursday.

Denver, which added Zach Wilson to their quarterback stable after working out a deal with the Jets to bring the former second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, had held an hour-long Zoom meeting with Nix on March 7 before a contingent led by coach Sean Payton went to Eugene, Oregon, on March 18, Breer reported.

The interest seems to be there from the Broncos, but they could be limited in what they can do in terms of moving up since they don’t have a second-round selection to bargain with.

Nix is likely to go somewhere in the first or second round — The Post’s Steve Serby has him going to the Broncos while ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. projects him going to the Giants at No. 33 overall — so it’s a bit of anyone’s guess if he’d be there when the Broncos make a pick.

Nix threw for 4,508 yards while recording 45 touchdowns and three interceptions this past season.

The Broncos have been doing their due diligence in terms of the quarterback position heading into this week’s draft and have already met or held visits with some of the top players in the position.

They met with LSU’s Jayden Daniels, attended the pro day for North Carolina’s Drake Maye, had a private workout for Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy and hosted Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. for a top-30 visit.

As for Wilson, he was a huge disappointment for Gang Green, never being able to materialize into the franchise quarterback that the Jets had envisioned him being.

He now joins a quarterback group in Denver that includes Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci.
