Verifying and repairing files is also something that you can try to fix this issue. To do this on PC, you will need to launch Steam and head to your Steam Library. From there, find Animal Well and right-click on it. Now, select Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. For Nintendo Switch users, go to Home and select System Settings. Next, scroll down to Data Management and click on Software. Now, select Animal Well and click on Check for Corrupt Data.

Clean boot Windows –

Clean booting Windows could also be of great help in dealing with this issue and as such, we suggest giving it a try. Basically, what you need to do is type in msconfig in the Windows search bar and open System Configuration. Next, switch to the Services tab, and checkmark Hide all Microsoft services. After that, click on the Disable all button. Now, switch to the Startup tab and select Open Task Manager. Disable all apps under the Startup tab. Once that’s done, return to the Startup tab and click on OK. Now, all that’s left is to restart your PC.

Run the game as an administrator –

PC users can also try running the game as an administrator and see if that helps. Essentially, what you need to do is to right-click on the game’s .exe and select Properties. Next, switch to the Compatibility tab. Now, checkmark the Run this program as an administrator checkbox. End the process by clicking on Apply and OK.

Reinstall –

If none of the aforementioned workarounds are of help, then we suggest that you uninstall Animal Well from your PC or console. Once it’s uninstalled, start a new download and install it again. After the installation is done, launch the game and see if the issue persists.
