Al Roker brutally mocks ‘Golden Bachelor’ Gerry Turner’s divorce: ‘Old people can be just as stupid’

Ruthless Roker!

Al Roker didn’t hold back when he addressed the news that “Golden Bachelor” stars Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist are divorcing after three months of marriage.

“This is breaking news. The ‘Golden Bachelor’ — the first couple from the ‘Bachelor’s’ latest franchise — have just announced they have split,” a shocked Carson Daly said on “Today” Friday.

Turner, 72, and Nist, 70, revealed their split just hours earlier on “Good Morning America.”

“What? Who would have seen that coming?” Roker, 69, guffawed to his co-host. “Unbelievable!”

“Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s love story already comes to an end,” Daly, 50, went on, with Roker adding that the “Bachelor” marriage sure was “quick.”

The weatherman continued: “It just goes to show that old people can be just as stupid!”

“Well, you said it, Al,” Daly laughed. “So poignant on the heels of a breakup. Thanks, Uncle Al.”

On “GMA,” Turner and Nist sat down for a joint interview to explain why they decided to divorce.

The pair tied the knot in Palm Springs on Jan. 4 in a televised ceremony for ABC. Turner proposed to his wife-to-be on the finale, which aired in November 2023.

Shortly after the sit-down aired, Turner officially filed for divorce in his hometown of Petersburg, Indiana.

In docs obtained by The Post, Turner listed the couple’s date of separation as April 12 and states “the marriage of the parties should be dissolved because of irretrievable breakdown.”

In Indiana, a divorce based on irretrievable breakdown of the marriage is known as a “no-fault” divorce and is not grounded upon wrong-doing or marital misconduct of the husband or wife.

“Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations … and looked closely to our living situations,” Turner noted on Friday. “We’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage.”

“We just feel like it’s best for the happiness of each of us to live apart,” he went on. “I still love this person. There’s no doubt in my mind.”

“I still love you,” the ex-couple gushed to each other as they held hands.

The pair did mention that they had a prenuptial agreement and that Nist will be returning the 3.15 karat Neil Lane engagement ring.

They’ve been dealing with long distance, as Nist lives in New Jersey and Turner resides in Indiana.

Turner dished that they had looked at houses in South Carolina and even New Jersey, but they “never got to the point” where they made a decision.
