87North & Universal’s Action Movie ‘With Love’ Swoons For Five

Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl Champ Marshawn Lynch (Bottoms), Mustafa Shakir (The Deuce, Luke Cage), Cam Gigandet (Violent Night, Without Remorse), André Eriksen (Violent NightThe Trip, Norsemen), and Lio Tipton (Friend of the FamilyRiddle of Fire) are boarding 87North and Universal‘s original action movie With Love.

They join previously cast Oscar winner winners Ke Huy Quan and Ariana DeBose, as well as Daniel Wu in the pic set for release on Feb. 7, 2025. For Quan, it’s his first major leading man role post Everything, Everywhere All at Once.

87North’s Kelly McCormick and David Leitch produce off a script by Josh Stoddard (WarriorKaleidoscope), Luke Passmore (ArchenemySlaughterhouse Rulez), and Matthew Murray (ShelteredCloudStreet: Soaring the American West). Guy Danella (Violent Night) is also producing for 87North.

Lynch is a former All-Pro NFL running back. Since retirement he acted in MGM’s  Bottoms, and will next be seen in Amazon MGM Studio’sThe Pickup. Other credits include appearances in the series No ScriptWestworld and Murderville. He also stars & directs the N’ Yo’ City segments on Thursday Night Football for Amazon Prime Video. He is repped by WME and Ziffren Brittenham.

Shakir is best known for his roles in The DeuceLuke CageCowboy Bebop and Emancipation. Other recent credits include Ghosted, the Apple/Skydance feature, opposite Chris Evans and Ana de Arms and Brawl in Cell Block 99 opposite Vince Vaughn. Shakir is represented by Gersh, Robyn Bluestone Management and Schreck Rose Dapello.

Gigandet counts such movies as Violent Night for Universal; Without Remorse for Amazon; The Magnificent Seven for MGM; Twilight and Never Back Down for Summit; and Easy APriestBurlesque and The Roommate for Screen Gems. Gigandet is repped by Independent Artist Group.

Eriksen also starred in Violent Night. He can also be seen as the male lead of Swedish series Svartsjön aka Black Lake. He just worked an episodes of the Netflix animated series Captain Fall in the role of “Hans”, a German crewman who leads a group of men in a rebellion. From 2017-2020 he starred on the Netflix comedy series Norsemen. Other credits include Vikings and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Eriksen is repped by Crimson Media and CESD.

·         Lio was most seen in a leading role opposite Jake Lacy and Colin Hanks in the Peacock limited series, A Friend of the Family, which Eliza Hittman directed and executive produced. They made their Cannes Film Festival debut last year in Weston Razooli’s feature Riddle of Fire, which they produced and starred in. Yellow Veil Pictures is set to distribute the film theatrically on March 22nd, 2024. They also shot the New Regency series The Edge of Sleep for executive producer Brian Kavanaugh Jones, based on the hit podcast. Lio can currently be seen in the Focus Features film Vengeance for writer/director B.J. Novak opposite Issa Rae, Boyd Holbrook, and Ashton Kutcher. They have recurred on Marc Cherry’s CBS All-Access series Why Women Kill opposite Lucy Liu and Ginnifer Goodwin. Previously they starred in the independent feature Broken Star for director Dave Schwep opposite Tyler Labine, and All Nighter opposite J.K. Simmons and Emile Hirsch for director Gavin Wiesen.
