Being embarrassed by your parents is a rite of passage! Sometimes it’s a minor embarrassment and other times, it is a level of embarrassment that could drive you to need therapy. With that being said, we hope that you enjoy this list!

It’s a hard thing when family members pass away, and most often, you learn of this through your parents. Unfortunately, for this mom, she thought ‘lol’ meant something much different. Now she looks like an insensitive jerk in front of the family.

When you’re sick, the first thing you want to do is call your mom. This is a natural thing, and often they have great advice on how to overcome the illness and make you feel better. This mom, though, had a very unique prescription.

She recommended that a private part would do the trick. Well, so the daughter thought until she realized that autocorrect got the better of her. We bet the mom was blushing with embarrassment after this!

It is always fun when parents try to use textspeak as they often don’t know what all of the acronyms stand for. Sometimes they are lucky and get them right, and other times things like this happen, which makes the situation just a little humorous.

All this kid wanted to do was celebrate the fact they got an A on a test. Mom wanted to share the joy and instantly sent off a text she thought would be appropriate. But she was wrong, and that made for an awkward moment.

One of the best uses of texts is when someone has run to the grocery store, and you realize you need something that wasn’t on the list. Or maybe you need something specific for a meal and need them to stop by the grocery store on the way home.

But unless you’re careful, sometimes the item could lead to a very inappropriate conversation that you are unwilling or not ready to have. Like this father-daughter conversation that got a little too saucy. Get it? Pun totally intended.

Autocorrect is the bane of most texter’s existence! It can take a serious situation and make it into one where you laugh inappropriately or one that just doesn’t quite come across the right way.

We can understand why the person was uncomfortable with the way they were feeling after mom clarified the error in the text. They shouldn’t feel so bad because just the thought of a Dance Autobot makes us crack up. We’re immature okay!

Divorce is nothing to joke about, though if used in the right context, it could be quite humorous like this mother did. The text started out as a joke and unfortunately turned into something that will give the child nightmares for days to come.

After all, no one wants to hear about their parent’s sex life at any age. Although a Swiffer for an anniversary gift is also something that is just plain wrong.

You either can take it with a good sense of humor, or you can find yourself nauseous from the thought. We’re glad that this mother cleared up the mistake and was sharing the fact that they googled themselves.

One thing we all miss when we are adults is our parents packing our lunches. It was a nice thing to reach into the fridge and grab out something already made and not have to worry about being too alert in the morning.

It was even better when mom included a soda. Still, this mom wanted to make sure that there was no huge mess. Thanks to auto-correct, this situation was very uncomfortable but nevertheless, still funny.

Everybody at some point cuts somebody off when they’re talking, and it can even happen when texting. This son was just trying to let his mother know that he was planning on coming out to visit mom and dad.

This is kind of like you giving back for all the help that they’ve given you. That’s what happened here as this mom was trying to show off her newfound bilingual status. But, unfortunately, she isn’t quite fluent yet. LOL!

In every family, there is at least one person who needs a little more help than others, a person that hasn’t quite gotten their life together. This is when the family unit bands together and helps each other out.

This mother was just trying to check in to let her daughter know that she knew she had given her brother a loan. Unfortunately, that is not what was texted. Maybe this mom needs to go to text school or something.

Who knows, she might just be onto something here with her untraditional message. Or it just could be that the texting gods were not on her side that day. We’ve decided to go with the latter theory.

You know it seems like every day you learn something new about your parents, and sometimes it’s really cool, and other times you would just rather not think of them in that way.

That being said, we’re not so focused on the auto-correct but rather on her reaction to the autocorrect. What do you mean you don’t do that at work? Do you do it in other places? Never mind, we don’t want to know!

It’s nice to have a parent who is mechanically inclined and could help you when you have issues with your car or other things. When you do, you tend to call on them quite regularly to help you out. Unfortunately for this person, it seems that his dad was busy that day.

Busy doing what? From the reply, it seems like his dad is up to something that just doesn’t need to be talked about in polite company. Or at least that’s how it seemed until dad caught onto his mistake.

When you get together with your parents for dinner, it is always nice when they call and ask if there is any special request you have. This mother just wanted to check that her choices of beverages were all right for everyone.

Clearly, that includes everyone and everything. We are sure that this person knew what their mother was talking about but wanted to really drive home that mom should edit her texts before sending them.

The key to keeping a relationship going for years and years is to keep the passion alive., though the children don’t want to think about that. So, we can’t really hate on this person’s dad as he was simply doing that.

However, we can give him a hard time for sending his love text to his daughter by accident. Plus, why on god’s green earth would he offer to send a pic? This dad deserves a serious time-out with no phone privileges!

The last thing you want to think about is your parents cheating on each other. So if you received a text as this person did, you would definitely be devasted and maybe even heartbroken, especially since they are being so irresponsible.

This text chain manages to get even crazier when it turns into a bribing deal. We hope that the kid took all the benefits before informing their mom of their dad’s extramural activities.

When it comes to buying gifts for your parents, there is at least one member of the unit that is incredibly difficult to shop for. So it is always nice when the other parent gives you a heads up on what they want.

We think that this child should be happy that the emoji used was a simple one and not one of the more complicated ones, such as, say, the eggplant emoji. At least the kid was happy to let his mom know what the emoji actually meant.

A lot of people love to use voice text when texting someone. It allows you to communicate without having to use your hands which is always nice when you are busy doing something else.

But when you text with the speech function, you have to be careful because not only will it misconstrue what you’re saying, but it will also type in everything it hears. This text chain sums up nicely what we’re trying to say you should be aware of doing.

The cool thing about using the text feature on most phones is that you can actually choose different languages, which is great if you have people in your family that speak other languages fluently.

But it is only good when that other person can understand the language. We can only imagine what this text actually says and assume that it might be inappropriate. Or maybe it’s just someone’s mother who couldn’t figure out how to change the language back.

Sometimes when a parent texts, it is not the actual text itself that is inappropriate, more the actions they’re talking about doing. We all know certain things about our parents absolutely embarrass us.

Perhaps going to a nightclub and dancing or even trying to do some more youthful activities might send us over the edge. After all, who wants to see their parents dance in a nightclub while they’re fist-bumping?! So inappropriate!
