Minecraft 1.17 Update: How To Increase Brightness In The Game

After months of anticipation, the Minecraft 1.17 Caves and Cliffs update has here. This is the update that players have been anticipating for months, and it is finally here. Players are looking forward to it because of all of the new features it will bring. In the Minecraft universe, this update will expose players to a slew of new monsters, biomes, blocks, and more! Axolotls, a whole new monster named the Guardian, new blocks like copper, deepslate, and dripleaf, new biomes to traverse, and new and better caverns will all be available to players.


Because this update is so large, it was split into two sections. Part one of the update will be published in the summer, with half of the material, and part two of the update will be published in the winter, with the remaining material. Those were given a sneak peek at these things in the game’s betas, which were only available to players who purchased particular editions of the game. Players that participated in the beta test may have had the opportunity to check out some of the new features before the full release. The Caves & Cliffs upgrade for Minecraft 1.17 is available for free on every platform that supports the game.

  • Normal Method: The “Brightness” option is found in the Options/Video menu. Slide this to the utmost “Bright” setting to make the game as bright as the options allow.




  • Manual Method: The options.txt file in your Minecraft folder is modified by the menu option stated above. It adjusts the “gamma” parameter to a value between 1 and 10. This file may be manually edited to modify the value to 100. (edit while your client is not running). This will give you a constant “full bright” impression. NOTICE: Taking this action may result in a server ban.
