Former Vice President Mike Pence hopes to raise $18 million in 2021 for a possible White House run, according to an Axios report.
Pence’s political advocacy group, Advancing American Freedom, has already spent $60,000 on digital advertising on behalf of Pence's potential run. Donors at a recent retreat in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, were asked to donate a portion of the targeted sum.

Axios noted that Pence has also helped raise campaign funds for other prominent Republicans, such as House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., Virginia gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin, and Rep. Randy Feenstra, R-Iowa.
Pence, 62, is among prominent Republican figures rumored to seek the nomination in 2024. Former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis are considered frontrunners.

Pence lost support from Trump loyalists when he voted to confirm the results of the election just days before the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol building where some Trump supporters had called for his hanging.
Excerpts in the new book "Peril" by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa detailed how Pence asked former Vice President Dan Quayle about ways to avoid certifying the election. A spokesperson called the reporting “a gross embellishment.”
Pence has denied this saying he “never wavered his commitment to the constitution.”
