Mets vs. Marlins prediction, total: Take the Under in Miami

The Miami Marlins and New York Mets are two of just four teams this season averaging fewer than four runs per game. They will hook up Monday in a Miami ballpark that has had the fewest home runs hit per game of any in MLB this season.

The Mets will send the youngest starter in their rotation, Tylor Megill, to the mound. He has impressed in seven starts thus far, with a 2.04 ERA and 9.9 strikeouts per nine innings. He has surrendered just three runs in his past five starts.

The Marlins traded their top home-run hitter, Adam Duvall, at the deadline, which leaves them with two active players who entered Sunday with more than five home runs this season. Jazz Chisholm was the only one with more than three home runs in Miami.

The Marlins have been solid out of the bullpen even after numerous trades through the season. They entered Sunday fourth in bullpen ERA.

The Mets have scored three runs or fewer in four of the five games in the season series and the Marlins entered Sunday having allowed four runs or fewer in seven of their last nine games, so Monday’s matchup has the makings of a low scoring affair.

The play: Mets-Marlins total, Under 7 runs.
