Mets reliever Drew Smith extends strong spring by striking out side

Drew Smith struck out the side in the eighth inning of the Mets’ 3-2 exhibition loss to the Nationals in West Palm Beach, Fla.

The right-hander Smith has pitched to a 1.50 ERA this spring and will be counted on for important innings in Edwin Diaz’s absence.
