The latest Mega Millions grand prize went unclaimed, which means the jackpot will grow to $400 million with a cash value of $231.7 million. The next jackpot drawing will take place on Friday, July 8.

Following the Tuesday night drawing, two players from California hit the Match 5, winning $1 million apiece. If the players had played the Match 5 with the Megaplier, they would have each won a $4 million prize.

There were 17 players who hit the Match 4 plus gold Mega Ball and won $10,000. Meanwhile, four players hit the Match 4 plus gold Mega Ball with the Megaplier, winning $40,000 each.

The rest of the wins from the night ranged between $2 and $2,000. A  total of 733,478 players won prizes from the Tuesday night jackpot.

The next drawing, which has grown to $400 million, is the third largest Mega Millions jackpot to be offered in July.

The jackpot has only reached over $400 million during the month of July twice. On July 24, 2018, a player from California won a $543 million grand prize. Two years later, on July 8, 2016, a $536 million prize was won by a ticket-holder in Indiana.

Mega Millions jackpot winners can receive their grand prize winnings through a one-time lump sum payment or an annuity.

Those who select the annuity receive one immediate payment, followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% each year.

Mega Millions can be played in 45 states, as well as the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.
