Paul Pogba has explained why Manchester United deserved to lose to Leicester City.
Pressure is mounting on Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the team failed to put on an impressive showing once again during its visit to Leicester City at King Power Stadium Saturday.
The Red Devils started out scorching as Mason Greenwood put the team on top with a sensational goal in the 19th minute. However, everything went downhill from there, and midfield veteran Pogba was really not happy about it.
Commenting on his team’s underwhelming performance following the game, Pogba said that Manchester United has been lacking intensity and confidence for quite some time now.
"We deserved to lose," Pogba told the BBC post-game. “To be honest, we have been having these kinds of games for a long time.”
The Frenchman stressed the need to figure out the real problem and how to put an end to it.
"We have not found the problem, conceding easy goals, stupid goals,” he explained. “We need to be more mature, play with more experience and arrogance in a good way. We need to find something, we need to change.”
"We need to find the right mentality and the right tactic,” he added. “Stick with it and resolve the problem."

Solskjaer’s attack shied away from being aggressive after Greenwood scored the game’s opening goal. It took 63 minutes before Manchester United managed to hit an equalizing second goal, courtesy of returning striker Marcus Rashford, in the 82nd minute.
However, Leicester quickly answered back on the other end with the 83rd-minute goal from Jamie Vardy. Patson Daka then put the final nail in the coffin with a late strike in the final minute, giving the Foxes a 4-2 win over the Red Devils.
Speaking after the match, a disappointed Solskjaer bared that apart from lack of depth in the midfield, Manchester United also failed to defend well, resulting in too many goals conceded.
"Today, the goals we conceded were disappointing, the timing of them and the way they were conceded,” Solskjaer told Manchester United’s official website. “We weren't good enough in the second balls, the 50/50s, the things that make you earn the right to win a game of football. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it our way.”
“It wasn’t just the midfield, but we were too easy to play through,” the manager added. “Maybe we gave too much space, but that's the whole team. I agree we didn't defend well enough. Today, we just didn't do things well enough."
