KEY POINTS

  • Manchester United wants to start winning silverware again
  • The club has signed Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane this summer
  • Youngster Axel Tuanzabe is pegged for a loan move

Manchester United’s summer transfer window continues to be an interesting one as it looks to acquire more talent across the board.

Being one of the most famous and storied clubs in Europe, the Red Devils know there’s work to be done before they make another run at the English Premier League title.

The club was just 12 points behind first place as it had to endure the pain of seeing cross-town rivals Manchester City hoist the league trophy for the second time in three years.

The Red Devils have since had a transfer window that points to them going all in at a league title.

They have since completed the long-awaited signing of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund after close to two years of pursuing, and they have recently signed world-class defender Raphael Varane from Real Madrid as well.

The arrival of the two big names definitely points to a rejuvenated Manchester United club who believes that now is the time to strike.

After all, Manchester City has lost Sergio Aguero this summer as he opted to leave the Etihad Stadium in favor of joining La Liga giants Barcelona in their quest to retool around Lionel Messi and entice him to sign a new contract.

However, Manchester United’s new additions mean that some players will have to be either sold or loaned.

Paul Pogba is still linked with Paris Saint-Germain, while others’ futures are yet to be discussed.

One of the players set to be put out on loan is Axel Tuanzabe.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer laid out his plans for the club’s roster in the coming days.

“Of course, with Raphael [Varane] coming in, I can see Axel going out [on loan], because I have Varane, Maguire, Lindelof and Eric Bailly and Phil Jones coming back in,” Solskjaer said.

"That's a big plus for him (referring to Tuanzabe). I've had similar troubles in my career, he's such a professional, good lad and it's great to see him ready to train again."

For Eric Bailly, this has to be good news as it was reported recently that Varane’s arrival caused him to worry about his playing time.

The road to a league title starts on August 14th as Leeds United visits them at Old Trafford.
