Lady Gaga has detailed the unconventional way her fiancé Michael Polansky asked for her hand in marriage.
Appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Tuesday night, the 13-time Grammy winner revealed that Minnesota-born Polansky asked her if he could propose to her before popping the all-important question during a hiking trip in April.

We’d been rock climbing before, which was super fun,” the “Joker: Folie à Deux” star explained, adding that the trip happened shortly after her 38th birthday.
“He didn’t propose to me at the top. We climbed up to the top, and we looked around, and we took some photos.”

“We went back down and we were just walking back to the room. It was very Michael to ask me if he could ask me. He wanted to know if it was OK to propose before he proposed. I was like, ‘Yes! It’s so OK!’”
Kimmel then asked if Polansky got down on one knee during the proposal, to which the “Shallow” hitmaker responded, “He didn’t. I’m a modern lady, I like what he did.”

The “Die With a Smile” singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, was then asked about her wedding plans, and whether she’s looking to have a big Italian celebration for the nuptials.
“I don’t know what we’re going to do. We’re not exactly sure yet,” she explained. “We actually talk a lot about just going to a courthouse just the two of us and [then] ordering Chinese food. But also, knowing me, it could become like a circus with unicorns.”
Gaga revealed that Polansky did not get down on one knee during the proposal. ladygaga/InstagramGaga previously opened up about her relationship with Polansky in a feature story for Vogue. The singer-turned-actress said the duo are “right for each other,” despite their differences.
“I had never met anyone like Michael,” the October cover star said. “He’s so smart and so kind. And his life and my life are very different.”
“He’s a very private guy and he’s not with me for any other reason than that we are right for each other,” Gaga added.
The “Poker Face” singer also told the outlet that she was introduced to the businessman by her mother in 2019 after she met him at Napster founder and early Facebook investor Sean Parker’s birthday party.
The “Joker: Folie A Deux” actress previously revealed that she was introduced to the businessman by her mother in 2019. InvisionPolansky is the CEO of The Parker Group, which oversees Parker’s business and charitable interests.
The pair fell in love shortly after meeting, and quarantined together during the coronavirus pandemic.
