The Knicks are rewarding Derrick Rose’s late career resurgence with a pay raise.
The 32-year-old agreed to a three-year, $43 million deal, according to ESPN, a substantial increase from the $2.5 million he made last season.
Rose displayed flashes of his former MVP form last season, averaging more than 14 points and four rebounds per game coming off the bench. The Knicks won 69 percent of the games in which Rose played, against just 47 percent in games where he did not.
In the days leading up to free agency, there were reports of mutual interest between Rose and his former team, the Chicago Bulls.
The Knicks focused their efforts Monday on re-signing key pieces from last year’s roster, including Nerlens Noel and Alec Burks, while also adding Boston’s Evan Fournier.
