Kevin Durant’s cutthroat ultimatum only makes the trade he wants harder for the Nets

The Kevin Durant saga has reached the absurd ultimatum stage, just in case anyone truly thought the resolution would be as simple as having KD running it back this season in Brooklyn.

After taking in a Travis Scott concert alongside former teammate James Harden — who also forced a trade from the Nets in February — Durant met with team owner Joe Tsai in London over the weekend, according to The Athletic. The 12-time All-Star reportedly indicated that he would consider rescinding his June trade demand, but only if GM Sean Marks and head coach Steve Nash are fired.

Yes, this disastrous season and summer somehow has gotten even messier and more unseemly in Brooklyn.

Tsai publicly responded Monday evening by writing on Twitter: “Our front office and coaching staff have my support. We will make decisions in the best interest of the Brooklyn Nets.”
