Inside Donald, Melania Trump's Easter Celebration With Their Family: Report

KEY POINTS

  • Donald Trump was in a "good mood" when he celebrated Easter with his children and grandchildren Sunday, a report says
  • The former president and Melania Trump reportedly were greeted with applause when they attended Easter service
  • Melania reportedly was not spotted with Trump's grandchildren

Donald Trump and wife Melania Trump spent the Easter weekend celebrating the holiday with their family at his private club, a report says.

The former president, his wife and their only child together, Barron Trump, were spotted enjoying dinner in the dining room of Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, on Good Friday, People reported. On Sunday, Trump and Melania attended an Easter service at the Christ Fellowship Church in Palm Beach Gardens.

"It is also our privilege, my privilege, today to welcome the president and Mrs. Trump, too," senior pastor Todd Mullins said as around 1,500 churchgoers applauded the couple, per People.

Photos from the service showed Trump and Melania sitting in the front row, both without face masks, the report said.

After the service, they returned to Mar-a-Lago and joined Trump's sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, daughter-in-law Lara Trump and his grandchildren for the annual egg hunt at his private club.

Don Jr.'s girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, was also in attendance. He shared several photos from the gathering on Instagram showing the ex-president posing with his grandchildren.

An unnamed Mar-a-Lago source told People that Trump was in a "pretty good mood" during the celebration and that the kids enjoyed the Easter egg hunt, which is apparently popular among the club members. However, the insider said, "I did not see Melania with any of the grandchildren."

Another unnamed insider told the outlet that the ex-FLOTUS has been in a sour mood in recent weeks.

"Melania acts as if she is not truly happy but has accepted what is required of her to live the lifestyle she relishes," the source said. "She loves the spa, the outdoor beauty and the European ambience so many enjoy at Mar-a-Lago. It is safe to say she plays the game for personal gain. Around here that is not a bad thing."

Prior to Sunday's Easter celebration, Don Jr. and Guilfoyle said in a video posted to Facebook that they will be celebrating the holiday in Florida with their kids, who include Donald Trump III, 12, Chloe, 6, Spencer, 8, Kai, 13, and Tristan, 9, and Guilfoyle's 14-year-old son, Ronan, whom she shares with ex-husband Eric Villency.

Don Jr. and Guilfoyle noted in the clip that the Easter egg hunt would usually get "a little competitive."

"We're going to experience the same with our kids," he continued. "I feel bad for Ronan, because he's so nice. My kids may eat him alive in this one. It could get rather rough and exciting."
