Heroes, zeros from Jets’ Week 3 win over Patriots: Aaron Rodgers kept the chains moving

Heroes, zeros and the full blitz from the Jets’ 24-10 win over the Patriots on Thursday Night Football:

Hero

Aaron Rodgers.

The Jets quarterback completed 27-of-35 passes for 281 yards with two TDs and no turnovers with 118.9 rating.

He did it with a lot of short and medium-length passes that kept the chains moving as the Jets offense dominated the Patriots defense.

Unsung hero

Tyler Conklin.

The Jets tight end, who entered the game with two catches for 16 yards, caught five for 93 yards in the game.

He was a key outlet for Rodgers all game in tough spots, catching a 22-yarder on second-and-17 on the second TD drive and another 22-yarder on third-and-9 late in the first half.

And then, on the Jets first scoring drive of the third quarter, he kept a drive alive with an 18-yard catch on third-and-three.

Zero

Jacoby Brissett.

The Patriots placeholder quarterback completed 12-of-18 passes for 98 quiet yards and was sacked five times for 46 yards in losses.

Brissett simply couldn’t get much going all night for New England.

Key stat

10-of-15: That was the Jets production on third downs for the game, unheard-of efficiency for the offense in years past with another quarterback.
