Harry Styles fans appalled by flying Skittles, injuring singer’s eye

Harry Styles did not want to taste the rainbow.

During one of his “Love On Tour” residency shows at The Forum in Los Angeles, California, on Monday, the 28-year-old singer appeared to be injured after a concertgoer threw Skittles onto the stage.

One fan shared the moment it happened in a video on Twitter, showing multiple pieces of the candy flying across the stage and hitting Styles in the left eye.

The “As It Was” singer can be seen flinching on impact and holding his hand up to his eye while bending over, seemingly in pain.

“Whoever the f—k threw a solid object at his eye, u literally ruined [the song] kiwi bc he wouldn’t open his eye for the whole song,” the fan wrote.

Styles was rubbing and touching his eye as well as visibly squinting for the remainder of the show.

Pauli Lovejoy, a member of Styles’ band, confirmed during an Instagram Live that it was indeed a Skittle that was thrown, and that the singer is doing OK.

“But do me a favor, don’t throw no more Skittles on stage,” Lovejoy said.

Fans of Styles took to Twitter to share their frustration with the concertgoer who assaulted the singer.

“The fact that someone had the audacity to throw a handful of skittles at Harry Styles’ face hitting him in the eye at his concert absolutely baffles me,” one fan wrote.

“whoever threw those skittles i hope you’re embarrassed and crying and are never allowed into a harry concert again,” another tweeted.

“i just saw the video of harry getting hit in the eye by skittles someone threw on stage and it’s making me furious what the f–k is wrong with people why would you throw a solid object that could potentially and did hurt him some people have no f–king respect istg [I swear to God],” someone wrote.

“who in their right mind thought it was a good idea to throw skittles at harry?? like what was the goal there,” another questioned.

“i cannot even explain to you how LIVID i am that someone would throw anything at harry while he’s performing, let alone a handful of skittles?!?? that is the most demeaning thing you can do to someone!! and you call yourself a fan?? i am so damn angry rn,” an angry fan said.

“whoever threw a skittle at Harry Styles’s eyeball I hope you step on a plug every day for the rest of your life,” someone quipped.

Following the unfortunate incident, Skittles put out a statement on Twitter.

“Didn’t think I needed to say this: Please don’t throw Skittles,” the Skittles account tweeted.

One person responded to Skittles calling them “public enemy #1,” to which Skittles said: “I had nothing to do with that incident.”

Someone else asked, “What if Harry wanted to taste the rainbow?”

“There are safer ways to do this,” Skittles said.

“Not just skittles, don’t throw anything at ur favorite artist face! Your at a concert, enjoy the songs and the vibe and sing along, you don’t necessarily need to get his attention by hurting him,” a fan responded to Skittles.

Concertgoers have a history of throwing things at Styles while he’s performing on stage.

During his Madison Square Garden residency in New York City, a fan threw a chicken nugget on stage, which Styles called a “very interesting approach.”

And while performing in Chicago he was hit in the groin with a bottle.
