Billionaire business Elon Musk said that Twitter’s legal team had accused him of violating a non-disclosure agreement by informing the public of the number of bots and fake accounts on the social media platform.
“Twitter (TWTR) legal just called to complain that I violated their NDA by revealing the bot check sample size is 100!" Musk tweeted on Saturday.
Musk originally tweeted on Friday that the $44-billion Twitter deal was temporarily on hold because it is “pending details supporting calculation that. Spam/fake accounts do indeed represent less than 5% of users.”
Musk then tweeted that his team would test for bots through “a random sample of 100 followers” on Twitter, which lead to Twitter's accusation.
He even encouraged others to do the same 100-follower test to check for bot accounts.
One Twitter user replied to Musk asking him to "elaborate on process of filtering bot accounts.”
Musk explained that, "I picked 100 as the sample size number, because that is what Twitter uses to calculate
